There are many smartphones in the Chinese market, but there are some which are a bit out of reach.
A recent report from App Annie suggests that there are more than 100 million smartphones in China, but we’re only able to check out the top 5 devices.
It’s a testament to how popular the Android platform is in China that the top five devices are also the top 10 most-popular in the US, according to App Annie’s own rankings.
The number of Android smartphones in Chinese handsets is almost double the number in the United States, according the report.
In the US Apple and Samsung dominate the market, while Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo each have around 1% of the market share in China.
We can only assume that this is due to China’s strict censorship regime, and that these devices are a relatively small percentage of the overall market.
The report does not break down the sales of these devices by country, and it’s not clear if there are any differences between Chinese and US users.
However, we can be fairly confident that the Chinese users will prefer these devices to the more popular Samsung and Apple phones, as they are far more affordable.
